The Fox Group evolved from a Cigar Merchant in 1881 and its retail subsidiary, JJ Fox (St James’s) Limited has a rich history selling cigars. The family opened their first London store in Burlington Gardens in 1946 following the war, and through the acquisition of Robert Lewis, which was purchased in 1992, can call on cigar expertise and custom dating back to 1787.

Now London’s largest independent retailers of fine cigars, in addition to its historic shop on 19 St James Street, this business also runs a very successful website, the cigar concessions in two of the world’s most famous department stores, Harrods and Selfridges, as well as working with a number of partners developing their specialist tobacco distribution, focusing predominately on the premium hand made cigar categories.

The business has no less than eight Royal Warrants on display in the store in 19 St James Street as well as a cigar museum and a large sampling room.
